Carter was called to serve as Senior Pastor on June 13, 2021. Carter grew up at Hopewell and returned in June of 2016. He graduated from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville with a B. A. in History and is currently working on a Master’s of Divinity from Southeastern Seminary. His hobbies include sports, woodworking, and reading.

Carter and his wife, Amber have four sons, Rex ( 6 ), Bowe ( 5 ),

Burns ( 3 ), Walt ( 1.5), and Baby Boy Gray arriving in May 2025.
